Grand Ayatollah Sistani Launches Humanitarian Initiative to Support War Orphans in Lebanon

The office of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani in Lebanon has announced the launch of a new humanitarian initiative aimed at providing financial support to orphans affected by the Israeli regime's aggression against the country.

Hawzah News Agency- In an official statement, the office said the program targets orphans who are not covered by any existing charitable institution or organization, offering them monthly financial assistance.

The initiative is designed to alleviate the suffering of children who have lost their parents as a result of the devastating war imposed on Lebanon.

A Lifeline for the Most Vulnerable

The announcement comes as Lebanon continues to grapple with the aftermath of widespread Israeli military operations that have left thousands of families displaced and hundreds of children orphaned. The humanitarian situation remains dire, with many vulnerable populations struggling to access basic necessities.

According to the statement, the support scheme will prioritize orphans who have fallen through the cracks of the existing humanitarian safety net—those not registered with or receiving aid from any other charitable body.

Beneficiaries will receive regular monthly payments intended to help cover essential living expenses, including food, shelter, education, and healthcare.

Religious Duty and Humanitarian Obligation

The initiative reflects Grand Ayatollah Sistani's consistent emphasis on the religious and moral obligation to care for orphans and the disadvantaged, particularly in times of war and crisis.

The top Shia cleric has repeatedly called on the international community and Muslim nations to fulfill their responsibilities toward the Lebanese people, who have endured immense suffering as a result of Israeli aggression.

The program is expected to be implemented through the Ayatollah's network of offices and representatives across Lebanon, ensuring that assistance reaches those most in need in a transparent and efficient manner.

Continued Support for the Lebanese People

Grand Ayatollah Sistani has maintained a longstanding commitment to humanitarian relief efforts in Lebanon, particularly in the aftermath of Israeli invasions.

His office has previously overseen the distribution of aid to displaced families, the reconstruction of damaged homes and infrastructure, and the provision of medical assistance to the wounded.

The new orphan support program represents an expansion of these efforts, focusing specifically on one of the most vulnerable segments of the war-affected population.
